GROUP THINK!

The Infinite Human School

GROUP THINK Groupthink refers to a psychological phenomenon in the collective consciousness of individuals who desire approval from others within their community-group, and many times will set aside or abandon their personal value systems or beliefs in order to feel like they “belong” in order to gain the groups acceptance and perceived approval. The internal pressure that is felt as the necessity to be loyal to the groupthink ideology can be perceived as real or imaginary threats. Although there is often censorship and thought control, through repercussions which amount to threats, accusations, humiliation and even the loss of job and profession. This happens when a person is outcast from not aligning their speech, thought and behavior exactly to the ideology of the groupthink. This is another form of compelled speech in mind control which is used in authoritarian regimes to stop any intellectual development, intelligent debates, critical thinking and thus persecute and penalize any independent thinker from adding to the groupthink approved conversation. This works to keep the majority of people silent and in submission to the mob rule. Most people deeply fear being persecuted and ostracized from their group identity,  The truth is that in a healthy person, family, community society no one is going to “agree”. Even within your own mind the things you believed in as a child have changed, hopefully. Your believes  serve you and must be honored until they no longer serve you then at that point they should be easily discarded like an old coat that is too worn to keep you warm.  Perhaps when you were a child you believed in Santa Clause or the Easter bunny only to grow into a more comprehensive understanding of these symbols.“When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.” 1 Corinthians 13:11 Belief systems are finite which we will always have until we connect with the infinite which is a never ending journey! So we need to rejoice in our differing opinions and learn from each other. The only question you need to constantly ask yourself in order to KNOW if you are freeing yourself from the finite words and mind control of man is does this believe bring me closer to my own infinite love for myself and others? Does this believe empower my own inner power and connection to infinite god source?  Does this believe support my inner creativity and uniqueness and make me feel alive? Use these as guideposts and never be afraid to let go of a belief that no longer serves you! This requires courage. Courage is love. Loving yourself and others enough to say no to things that are no longer on your best interest or theirs. When you do this you bestow the greatest gift another human can give another an example of doing things differently ..
